The tiny beach of Macherida is located 14 km northeast of Chania and 1 km west of Chorafakia village, hidden in a rocky bay. The bay is bounded on the north by a knife-like promontory, hence and its name, surrounded by beautiful rocks. The waters here are deep and consequently clear while the currents also take care of their purity that change direction several times a day and don't let go easily garbage to approach.
