Agioi Theodoroi or Theodorou

The large islet was called in ancient times Akytos (which means unfit for residence) or Litoa, while it is also referred to as Toullouros. The Venetians referred to it as San Theodoro or San Todaro and in 1574 they decided to build a fortress on the island and strengthen it to prevent pirates and the Turks to invade Crete from the area of Platanias. Today, few ruins remain from the castles of the past, as well as from the small church of Agios Theodoros, which had been built on the island earlier. Today they protect the Cretan Goat, the famous Kri-Kri. The wild goats were brought to Theodorou from the mountains of Crete to be able to reproduce away from poachers and other dangers.

Macherida

The tiny beach of Macherida is located 14 km northeast of Chania and 1 km west of Chorafakia village, hidden in a rocky bay. The bay is bounded on the north by a knife-like promontory, hence and its name, surrounded by beautiful rocks. The waters here are deep and consequently clear while the currents also take care of their purity that change direction several times a day and don't let go easily garbage to approach.

Avlaki

Avlaki gorge is located, near the monastery Gouverneto, 15km east of Chania city. It is one of the most important gorges in Crete with a particular religious value, as many monks and hermits found shelter in its caves. Inside the small canyon there is the deserted Katholiko monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Crete. Therefore, the gorge is also called Katholiko Gorge. The gorge is not accessible in all its length, but there is a paved path that starts from the Monastery Gouverneto. After 10' of walking, you will meet the Cave Arkoudiotissa with the ancient temple of Artemis. From there the trail becomes steeper and the scenery rougher. After 15 more minutes, you arrive at the abandoned monastery of Katholiko and the cave of Saint John the Hermit,who lived here. The cave is very deep (150m) and whoever wants to walk inside it must have a torch.
